These terms govern the text message (SMS) program operated by Metropolitan Accident & Injury Center (“MAIC,” “we,” “us”).
Last updated: August 4, 2026
| Program name | MAIC Patient Text Updates |
|---|---|
| Sending number | (888) 457-7948 (toll-free) |
| Message types | Appointment reminders and confirmations, care coordination, results-ready notices, and occasional updates about MAIC services |
| Message frequency | Varies by your care; no more than 6 messages per month |
| Cost | We do not charge for messages. Message and data rates may apply from your carrier. |
You join by submitting the sign-up form at sms.maicbronx.com and checking the consent box, which is unchecked by default. The consent language you agree to reads:
“I agree to receive text messages from Metropolitan Accident & Injury Center (MAIC) at the mobile number provided, including appointment reminders, care coordination, and occasional updates about services. Message frequency varies (no more than 6 messages per month). Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase or of receiving medical care. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help.”
We do not add anyone to this program from a patient list, an intake form, or a phone call. Consent is given only through the sign-up form, and it is never a condition of purchase or of receiving medical care.
Reply STOP to any message to be removed. You may also reply STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT. We will send one confirmation message and then stop. You can also call (888) 991-5290 or email info@maicbronx.com to be removed.
Reply HELP to any message, call (888) 991-5290, or email info@maicbronx.com.
Supported carriers include AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Boost, MetroPCS, Cricket, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is not guaranteed, so never rely on text messaging for an urgent or emergency medical need — call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
This program is for individuals 18 years of age or older, or for a parent or legal guardian communicating about a minor’s care.
We use a third-party messaging provider (Twilio) to deliver messages on our behalf. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or SMS consent with any third party for marketing purposes. Text messages are not a secure or encrypted channel, so we keep clinical detail in messages to a minimum and never include sensitive diagnosis or treatment information. Our full Privacy Policy describes how we handle your information.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
